My Cholestral levels.. need advice please..
A few months ago when I first started my low card diet I had bloodwork done to check my cholestral levels for the first time in my life. When the results came back it was not the greatest... my good cholestral was 38 and my bad cholestral was 181. This week I had my blood tested again and the results were a little better. My good cholestral was up to 42 and my bad cholestral was down to 153. I still have to work on this a bit as the Dr. still wants my good cholestral higher and my bad cholestral lower. Maybe some of you can tell me what supplements would be good for me to take. My DR. said to exercise more (kinda hard with a bad lower back) and to try a low fat, low cholestral diet. I have no plans on doing that as I am dedicated to my low carb diet. And so far since I have lost 75 pounds, my numbers are getting better. Here is what I am currently taking for diet supplements... 1 one-a-day Carbsmart vitamin, 630 mg Natural Green Tea Extract, 2000 mg Flaxseed Oil, 600 mg Calcium twice a day, 1500 mg Glucosamine HCI, 1200 mg Chondrotin Sulfate... and once in a while I also take a low carb dieter daily fiber supplement... should I be taking a fiber supplement every day? Are there other nutritional supplements that I should be taking to lower my cholestral or in general on a low carb diet?
