I agree this could present a problem. In a way it kind of did for me when I waivered from low carb in the past. I was still eating meats and cheeses, but also my beloved micro brew and pizza sometimes. By that time there was rarely bread, cerial or sugar in the house anymore, but I was still getting enough carbs to really pile on the weight. Granted I have really sensitive body chemestry.

I think it is a great idea for you to cook the same meal for everyone and I believe it will make a healthy impact for your husband. As I learned several years ago when I first started Atkins, men and women have very different carb tolerances. My husband was very supportive of my new way of eatting - what guy doesn't like a nice thick steak for dinner? He was already in pretty good shape, but still lost some of those middle age pounds that were creeping on him while still having a light beer and occasional bread. My son also eats my low carb meals and drinks whole milk with each meal and is very healthy. He is into sports and burns off the extra carbs without trouble. It isn't fair, but guys can get away with a lot more carbs in general. The improvement will still show up - my husbands cholestarol and blood work has been great since he changed with me. Is he truly low carb - maybe not by many people's definition, though I look at it as the maintenance phase where you can have more grains. Good luck.
