Nancy,
TSH level is 1.368 uIU/mL. But it was higher 3 months ago. I guess I have heart disease but she didn't say anything about that. This docs normal range is 0-4.5. I thought because of my extremely fast weight gain that that was the problem in the first place. Then the rest of my obese family on my father's side just laughed and said they all hoped it wasn't our great genetics and lousy eating.
I really couldn't ask my doctor anymore questions. She won't take any phone calls. Only Margie the nurse will and she will talk to the doctor and call me back. Then if I have a question based on what she tells me she has to ask the doctor and call me back. After a few times of this i went and got my reports. I added in OTC fish oil from "Trust Nutrition" which is where i get all my supplements.
Not sure why my doctor put me on Lovaza to up my HDL which was at 42. She said it was great and my numbers would rise way up. She takes it too. I said since it's just a "better" type of fish oil (what she said) then I will try for 3 months and be retested. When I was and it went down to 36 she took me off of it. My trys were 111 and now are 74. But under 150 is my doc's normal range so it had nothing to do with those.
So she freaked because I walked in with many documents including my weight chart of 26 lbs in 3 months with new diet for 3 months. I gave her my menus and articles on coconut oil and high fat diet. I only do the high fat diet and I have done well on it so I will only stay on it. Been on enough that didn't work with my metabolism so this is the ONE for me. She was very angry and yes said a little info on the internet is a dangerous thing and I know that to be the case except my info printed was from reputable sources. I couldn't bring her books to read. She is not interested at ALL. So she's an idiot, she is fired but I do want to see her one more time with my new cholesterol results in January because I have added CLAs and exercise too along with LC, quit smoking, drinking, lost weight, still losing, everything that raised HDL.
I can't worry about my result of HDL-2 which came out to be 9 when normal is over 15. No one knows what this means. I asked here and looked on the internet. You know her idiot nurse Margie has no idea. I am studying nursing and I can't believe this practice. It has always been fine but I never had to question anything because I am 39 and never had anything that wasn't normal until now. i am getting a new doctor and calling everyone on my insurance list to see if they have a problem with my diet before I ever make an appointment.
