Default Frothy/airy shakes?

It seems like every time I make a shake, it gets really frothy/airy.

Any way to avoid this? I feel like I'm drinking air. If I let the shake settle, it will divide. The top part being a frothy mess and the bottom part being a liquid.

I do 6 oz water, 4 ice cubes, 1 scoop protein powder, teaspoon of the amino chain acid stuff, splash of cream or coconut milk and a sugar free syrup for flavor. I blend for about 30 seconds.

Once and a while I put a pinch of xantham gum, but that does not appear to make a difference.

Suggestions?

Add another scoop of protein powder, there's more liquid than "mixer", also Eades say that it's 2 scoops of pp for people 130-180lbs

Ditching the ice also helps a lot.

try blending in a 1/2 or whole avocado into yer shake. Someone on this board suggested it a while back (can't remember) but they seemed to love it as it gave the shake some thickness & body...sorta like a banana would (if you ate them).

The coconut milk works for me. You could also just make them in advance -- they deflate in the fridge.
