Exclamation POLL: Break Stall with more/less Carbs; Cals or Fat?

Following on from the big poll about what causes stalls; I thought I'd like to see what more specifically can break a stall - in relation to consumption of Carbs; Calories and Fat.

Just wanted to add that decreasing calories could also be labelled as increasing exercising. Doing both at the same time worked best for me.

Increasing fat works best for me, and reducing carbs.

Increasing calories has been working for me. I was eating only about 1,000 a day on my own. Incrased it to about 1800-1900 for a few weeks, and now have leveled off at 1700 and seem to be doing well so far. I also added a couple of supplements, based on a posting from someone whose doctor is doing a study on low-carbers and stalls or something like that. So that might be helping, too. (I was already taking L-Carnitine, and added COQ10 and Alpha linoic Acid.)

I didn't participate in the poll..because I haven't found anything that works well for me YET. Increase...decrease....carbs....calories...fat...all seem to make little difference.

If I had to mention anything that helps somewhat...it would be increase in water drinking.....and that only lasts a short time...then I stall again.

When I keep close tabs on calories I keep the carbs in line too without carb creep.

Also I eat more fish then red meat or pork.

Break stall by doing things properly - no low carb chocolates - see interesting thread in this forum about 'how I got induction to work', drink my water, no 'half' glass of wine, counting ALL the carbs (instead of forgetting the ones in coffee, and the milk in my morning cup of tea) and EXERCISING.

Basically I suffer from 'carb-creep', 'laziness-creep', 'just a bit of this won't hurt-creep' until, before I know it, I'm so far from doing things right, there's no wonder I'm not losing.

Back to basics again for me!

I am finding lately that I need to keep my calories up at 1900-2000 to keep the weight coming off regularly. I was staying under 20 ecc, but calories at 1350-1550 (just the way it worked out), and weightloss stalled. I added whipped cream to my diet (yes, this is more fat, but also calories) and noticed that I lost weight right away. I have also added more meat and eggs, and tried to keep the calories up ( using 100% beef patties with a little mustard on the side) and same thing- weight comes off at 1900-2000 calories. I will stick with it until things change or a stall happens that I can't get out of.

Increasing protein and decreasing carbs and fats works for me...but that is not in the choices offered in the poll.

I find that when I increased my carbs for a day, the next day my weight would be down and then from there I would keep losing until I would finally stall again.

I honestly was eating more carbs because I was aggravated from stalling. So when I would go back to my 20 carbs per day limit I would start losing again. This has happened to me 3 times in the past year.. Now reading comments on this board confirms what I discovered........
