Default Wheat Free Market has pleased me

As featured on the front page of the Wheat Belly Blog, I have tried two different products from Wheat Free Market and I'm impressed.

First, I tried their prefab shortbread cookies, which are made with almond flour and erythritol, 2 net carbs apiece. A lovely texture, a bit crumbly just like shortbread should be, and not too sweet.

But the real treat was the Mug Muffins. Add an egg and a bit of heavy cream (directions called for milk, so I ramped it up) beat with a fork, 90 seconds in the microwave. Amazing! Not only did it rise up over the top of a big mug (I wouldn't use the regular, small, ones) it stayed there. After a minute to cool, I held the mug upside down over a paper towel, and it fell right out of the mug, as promised.

This is not crumbly and not spongy, either. Very tasty. And I found it filling; that was my dinner, along with high fat Greek yogurt and a half cup of raspberries. Makes a killer dessert and a lovely light meal, combined. Muffins are much larger than the cookie and 4 net carbs apiece.

I tried the Ginger Spice, but I have WildBerry too. Every single ingredient in these are foods I recognize. These folks seem to get it.

Find them here:

I'm not associated with them in any way. I'm just a happy camper!

I've tried the 3 muffin mixes from Wheat Free Market: ginger spice, mixed berry, and chocolate chip. I like them all, but the ginger spice is especially good. The spices are in a perfect combination to give a gingerbread taste. I've never managed to give the spices right when I make gingerbread-flavored almond flour cup muffins from scratch.

I've also tried the 3 cookies: almond spice, chocolate chip, and shortbread. They all tasted great, but the chocolate chip and shortbread were very soft. I liked the almond spice best because it had more crunch, perhaps because it contained almond slivers.

I also tried their wheat free classic granola. That was so good that I won't order it frequently because I want to overeat it. One bag, which has about 1600 calories and 50 g net carbs, is supposed to be 10 servings. For me, it was about 2 servings--and that was showing restraint. At $9.99 per bag, it's also rather pricey.

I'll definitely be ordering more from them.

I tried their Flaxseed wrap mixes today. Very tasty, low carb, easy, and economical. One packet makes 2 wraps. I made one wrap the regular way, microwaving for 2 minutes. It had a nice bread-like consistency and tasted good when spread with pimento cheese. For the other half of the mix, I microwaved for 4 minutes, which was the recommended time for pita chips. They didn't have much crunch--but what does in a microwave--so I then fried them briefly in a hot skillet with a few tablespoons of coconut oil. Those were great--very crunchy and tasty. I will definitely be making both the chips and the wrap again.

Wheat Free Market is currently having a special where all orders ship for $4.95. I'm going to order some more stuff.
