Default How much protein?

Is there a target protein consumption while low carbing? I'm trying to formulate a plan to begin right after Christmas...and just read a thread re: protein cutting appetite, too. It's true, when I started the day with a protein shake, I lost more consistently. But I don't want to have too much.

Anybody?

TIA

set protein at 1gm/lb of body weight. this should be around 30-40% of your total calories.

The rest is fats (~55-60%) while your carbs come from green veggies (~5-7%)

The recommended protein levels are .8g -1g per Kg (2.2 pounds) of lean body weight. More if you exercise a lot. If you are eating meat there are approximately 7 g protein per oz.

The calculation for the minimum amount of protein per day is = (((your weight / 2.2) * 1 or 1.25) / 7) This will give you a range - if you use the 1 in your calculation, that is the lower number in the range, use 1.25 for the higher number in the range.
