The Diet Delusion in Paperback £8.44 available now.
This was the book that together with Taubes Berkeley lecture put me onto low carbohydrate dieting and solved my weight problem without the need for extra exercise. I'd be very pleased if anyone knows where to find the "afterword" online that updates this edition. Otherwise I'm going to have to spend a while "browsing" in Waterstones next week.

Anyone know when Taubes new book will be released? I think it will probabley be a great compliment to "Good Calories, Bad Calories" which I really found useful.

Anyone happen to know the title of Taubes' new book, and what is the publication date?

Do you mean the GCBC Lite book that he's working on? As far as I know (and Amazon reveals), there is no publication date for it yet....unless you're actually asking about GCBC, which was released in fall 2007 in the US.

No, I don't think so, but I'm unsure.

There was an early post in this thread asking about the book he's allegedly was working on -- but I wonder it they got confused with the UK release of GCBC, as it was given a different title, "The Diet Delusion."

Gary is working at this very moment on GCBC Lite. Quote: "What am I doing next? As suggested by many readers, I am going to write a short, easy-to-read version of the weight section of GCBC. It won’t be a diet book — no recipes — but it will be far more of a self-help book than GCBC." (ref)

In the mean time, there is Barry Groves new book "Trick And Treat" that is easier to read than GCBC and talks about the same things.

Sorry I should have made the point that the GCBC is sold in the UK as The Diet Delusion and this in January was released as a paperback. It is NOT a new book, just a new UK edition of GCBC . Different title ~ same contents.

But I am looking forward to hearing more from Gary Taubes so hopefully he is still following diet research and will update us with his thoughts sometime.

I wonder if this means GCBC will be coming out in paperback in the U.S. soon!

Patrick

PS: Just in case that works, let me know
