Default NEW HERE :) And does anyone do their RW for breakfast??

Hi everyone- My name is Lyndsey and I am new here but not new to CAD. 10 years ago I went from 175 to 125 on this diet, following the old book. Family pressure at time (I was only 16) got the best of me and I stopped and gained all the weight back, plus after 10 years almost 100 lbs in addition.

I am 26 years old, mother of 2 little girls, and a professional photographer. Nice to meet you

I haven't thought too much about this diet since then, even though I should have. I tried Weight Watchers, Body for Life- you name it. And my addiction to sugar was always stronger than my willpower to stick to any plan.

Then last month, I remembered this diet and at a desperation of being 263 lbs at 5'2", I decided to try it again. I have lost 15 lbs in a little over a month thus far, following the original book- which though my memory isn't perfect, at the time there weren't too many specifics about the reward meal. I lost 50 lbs back then really just eating whatever (within reason) for my reward meal and lost weight quickly. So I currently follow the 'old' protocol I guess you could say

But I am noticing that I am out of the norm here in that i eat my RM for breakfast- and did 10 years ago as well. For some reason, I can't imagine starting my day without fruit. I love the taste of a green smoothie in the morning. I also enjoy not having to think about the RM during the day and if someone drops cookies off at my house or what have you, I just save one for the morning. I don't eat too much for the rest of the day as I am just not too hungry. Anyone else doing this???

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and I am seriously BEYOND excited that people are still doing this diet and having success 10 years later. I know I loved it last time, and this time have more to lose but I am confident I will make goal in the future!

Welcome to the group!
And, yes, I eat my RM for breakfast too! I just read the most recent Heller's book: The Stress Eating Cure. Basically, it's CAD but they strongly recommend eating your RM for breakfast.
I much prefer eating my RM for breakfast since, like you said, it really curbs your cravings for the rest of the day and I find I don't eat as much since I'm just not that hungry. Waiting for my dinnertime RM was torture and I couldn't stop thinking about food and counting down the hours.
I'm glad to have another CAD buddy on here that has their RM for breakfast. I'm really enjoying it so far.
Good luck!

Hi and welcome! Please come post in the main chat thread - hour power #5.

I follow CALP, which was written after CAD, but do eat my rw for breakfast on occasion - usually for Sunday Brunch
