Default any Central Oregon LC doctors?

I've recently been diagnosed with T2 diabetes. My family doctor referred me to the local hospital for a $900 class on diabetes. Does anyone know of any Central Oregon doctors with more of a LC approach? Currently having good BG control following Bernstein, but would like to find a supportive doctor or nurse.

Central Oregon coast.

Right now I have a pregnant woman who is one of my patients who was probably a T2 prior to pregnancy but was diagnosed early in her pregnancy. She is doing beautifully with her BG--following about <100 carbs/day. The rule I told her was...to eat to her meter. Period. Her blood sugars are awesome AND she is losing about 1-1.5 pounds per week.
Baby is healthy and growing appropriately per the perinatologists.

Progress not perfection.

Lisa

Wow thats crazy to have to pay a cost for a class on Diabetes.

I know Atkins wrote a Book, its calle, The Diabetes Revolution, and its really good.

I am down in Jacksonville, and I go to a community health clinic, and that PA was fine with me On a Low Carb diet., he did ask how I stick to it

By the way I am type 1, and Low carbing keeps my Insulin needs alot lower. very good take care Debbie

Debbie,
Thanks for the response. I'm glad to know there are other Oregonians out there. We (myself and one other) are trying to start a local support group. I'm doing well with diet and exercise but always have higher BG reading in the monings.
