I have been doing Schwartzbein for a little over a week and have lost 4 lbs. I didn't do it to lose weight. I felt so sickly that the weight wasn't even an issue anymore. (though I'm about 50 lb. overweight) I just wanted to feel good again. I must say its the easiest weight loss I've even done. Tried Atkins, felt terrible. I feel good and no food cravings.
My advise: Don't obscess. Stick with normal portions, try to get those veggies in and pick your favorite low carb bread, or whatever to go with your meal, and take your vitamins, especially a mult B complex.
I have not weighed any food or counted any grams. Just do the palm size portion of protein at meals and about half of that at snacks. Carbs are easy. Nothing worth more than one slice of bread. Keep the fiber up. Veggies have been free for me, as well as salads fit four four people, chuck full of nuts, croutons, and anything else I could find that looked good, including my favorite salad dressings.
Three meals, two snacks and an occasional bedtime low carb cookie and decaf tea to help me sleep. This almost seems too good and I think it will be easy to maintain for life.
I hope and PRAY that this continues. My diabetes was out of control and I was feeling like twice my age. I havn't found the strength to start exercising yet, but I hope it comes. (my job is very physical and leaves me exausted) I've been trying to heal my adrenals by sleeping in on my days off and getting to bed at a reasonable time on work days. Thats something people tend to ignore, but it means so much.
Love to keep talking w/others on this plan for support!
