Do any of you get together with a small local group? If so, do you eat, share recipes, have a speaker, how often? How did you contact folks to get started? I would like to do this but would like some ideas.

Default Vancouver get-togethers

There are a few of us here in Vancouver, and we get together once in a while for informal coffees and dinners. We don't have speakers or anything - we do enough talking to keep each other entertained! We don't meet regularly, since we all have pretty tight schedules, but it ends up being once every couple of weeks or months, I suppose.

We met on this board. Are there other low-carbers where you live? I see you're in the States - maybe if you check out some of the American boards you'll find some people in your geographical area. (This is not to say you should leave THIS board, of course!!!! )

Is there a bulletin board, in your local community centre, library, supermarket, health food store, etc., where you could put up a notice? Or maybe the local college or university? Don't put your address or phone number on the notice, of course, but I think it's generally safe to post an e-mail address.

Hope this gives you some ideas!
Rachel

Yah....BC. Pity Vancouver Washington is so far! I hear you have a great low-carb store there. We were discussing driving down, but it'd take days!

Thumbs up Vancouver calling Vancouver....come in Vancouver!

Hey, cool, what a great idea!

We usually post our get-togethers in the 'Local low-carbers' forum. Keep an eye out for us there!
