Default Tofu in phase 1

Hi

Tell me, are some of you eating meat or fish once a day, and tofu or tempeh for the second meal, in an attempt to consume less meat?

In this case. Do you consider your 200gr tofu as if it was meat, but just count their glucid and consider these as part of the 20 daily allowance?

Thank you very much

Are you following a specific plan or just trying to reduce carbs? For example,
Tofu and tempeh were allowed in later Atkins books, but wouldn't be paleo.

I do eat some soy, as I like it (was veg for 14 years). There are others on this site who also consume it.

I would ask WHY you are worried about eating less meat though? Personally, I don't fee great if I eat too much of it, but I do believe it is quite healthful.
Is it an animal welfare issue (reducing my meat is partially for this reason) or economic?

Anyway, I don't count my protein in oz/grams by weight. I count the number of grams of protein a food contains and aim for between 50-65g per day. But individual needs vary based on weight, gender, level of activity, etc...

Thank you Robin120
I am following Atkins phase 1
I occasionaly eat meat (animal welfare) and fish.
Idealy Phase 1 has meat or fish at each meal and I would like to replace by tofu for one meal a day.

Is this feasible and how do I count it's glucid? Is it part of the vegetable 15-20gr glucid I must eat every day?

All my thanks

Assuming that glucid is the French word for carbohydrate, you have to count all carbohydrates in your daily total, whether they come from vegetables or tofu.
