Default Cyclic ketogenic protocol / carb backloading

Anybody use these protocols at all? I've started experimenting with adding in carbs post-workout, and have noticed a renewed vigor for lifting and doing interval training and sprints.

I'm still mostly low-carb, but I now do eat some high GI/GL carbs (no grains though) immediately post-workout. Alos, I've been following Keifer, and only doing this late afternoon and evening. I've been doing this for a few weeks, and have noticed no gains on the scale, but definite gains in the gym.

Any thoughts or opinions on this?

My sons who are both body builders would say that is a healthy thing to do! Sprints, lifting, and interval training requires it. It's a whole different ballgame when you have a rigorous exercise regime. I'm an ex-jogger and know that if I take it up again, I'll have to revisit my eating plan.

I have been working out hard for about six weeks and my trainers are begging me to eat carbs after my workout. I started by eating a half of sweet potato, but I think if helped me fall off the wagon and I gained 9 pounds in four days! (don't ask what I ate)

I have no energy in the gym! What carbs do you eat post workout?
