IF question
Hello all,
I've got 10.5 months low carb (atkins induction, with a few attempts to climb the ladder and dropping back down, exploring a more keto-focused woe) under my belt. I've been stalled a number of months now, bouncing up and down the same 3 pounds depending on salty food, alcohol, or exercise but never dropping below that and always bouncing back up.
I've read Jason Fung's site and found the courage to try IF, allowing myself limited heavy cream in tea, limited coconut oil in coffee and a cup of broth as per one of his allowed guidelines, which made it surprisingly easy. I think it is being fat-adapted after all these months of low carb eating. Last week I IF'd three days (19 hours each day) and ate a snack of macadamia nuts and then a slightly larger than usual dinner. Great "scale-results" of 4 lbs down. The fourth day i was very hungry, and ate my normal low carb diet for 4 days. The result was the same bounce - back up the 4 lbs lost.
This week I am working with a fasting time of 20 hours, and am planning on doing it Mon thru Friday, then a normal LC diet on the weekend and see what happens...
So here is my 2-part question:
For those of you experienced in IF: how do you do it?
What has been most effective for you?
(I read in one of the older IF threads that moderators are limiting the amount of discussion on IF, but i am not sure of the exact limitations as I see references to IF in other discussions. So if this is not appropriate to create a thread on, I will take it to the journals and ask some of you individually.)
