Default Going out for sushi tomorrow night

I'm just gonna stick to sashimi (just the fish, not rice) and steamed soy beans. Any other suggestions for P1?

make your own sushi at home with riced cauliflower. Cheaper and phase 1!
steam cauliflower, add rice vinegar and do the rest like you would make sushi with reguilar rice.

they usually have a japanese appetizer on the menu at sushi restaurants. there's this one dish called "Kanisu."
it's a sushi mix w/o rice and rolled in thin cucumber ribbons.
it won't fill you, but it's pretty on the plate and doesn't blow your eating program.

Be careful as some places use the fake crab. It is fish and has a lot of salt, and some times sugar added to it.
Stick to real fish, or shrimp.

You can also have miso soup but know that its very high in sodium.
Many sushi places with also serve salads.
I love sushi! Now I'll be thinking about it all day.

Be careful with the salad. All the local Japanese restaurants use a to die for ginger dressing that's carb loaded.

Sashimi is always a good choice. Especially toro (fatty tuna). Yum-my.

I've ordered maki without rice before. Some places will do it, especially for inside-out rolls like California and spicy tuna. They'll just use cucumber sticks to fill it up.

I love salmon sashimi so much!

Edamame is a good choice.

Look at appetizers too- there is often one that is basically just wilted spinach and soysauce. There might be other vegetable dishes that look like a safe bet

Miso soup is delicious. My favorite sushi place has a miso soup with smoked mussles and eggplant- it's awesome.

BEWARE of seaweed salad (it is usually fairly high in sugar )

Have fun- japanese is one my favorites!

I had seared ahi tuna with the low sodium soy sauce
A basic salad with dressing on the side
A bowl of shrimp and veggie soup. The broth was a clear broth spiced with chili powder and lime. SO GOOD
