Hello,
I was just looking over the salad veggies on the induction list and I came across "posse pied". What is this? What do you do with it? And where do you find it?
Just looking to add new things to my meal plans,
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Talk to you tomorrow, Zima
Pousse pied, salicornia, samphire are all different names for this wild vegetable. It grows on the land around salt water and is at its best during summer. It gets way to stringy too eat after that. It's salty and crisp in texture.
But, it's very hard to find retail. Some natural foods stores may carry it it season. It's usually not sold a great distance from where it's grown
Hey Karen ,
Thanks for the Info, I know I've seem that growing in my area, southern oregon coast. I will try some and let you know. Rest asure, I will do more research before consumption. Wouldn't want to make myself sick , or worse. (I didn't think I would ever have cause to use that emiticon)
Thanx again, Zima
