I compare the Native Americans to the canary that is brought into coal mines. A dead canary warns the miners of carbon monoxide gas and they will not enter the cave. If we observe a culture that thrives on this kind of diet, we have to remember that they are human beings and what affects them negatively will in turn affect us the same way.

From the original poster--
Because I would be unwell--sleppy and moody especially. My ancestors were northern people and I believe that is why I do so poorly on higher carbohydrates. Maybe others could be okay on 100 grams plus carb daily, but not me.

Also, I do not agree with most nutritionists or other "experts" on what a healthy diet is. I imagine most of them would be horrified by the way I eat. Most of them follow the USDA food pyramid and a grain based/low fat diet is what farmers use to fatten livestock. I know I was fattened by that program as well!

Good point, i am of croatian and irish ancestory and the bottom line,my dad's side of the famil lived on pork sausages, beef and other meats and had very little rice if that, they ate cabbage rolls with a creamy sauce over it and most of the croatians on my dad side lived to be in their 90's, thin and healthy and they ate alot of food
My mom side the irish side, love biscuits and gravy, sauasge mixed in with it,they ate alot breads and other carbs but they suffer from obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure but i look at old pictures, they were then in the 30's and 40's because all of their stuf was home grown and organic, that changed in the 50's when they ate processed foods
i think if you take vitamins, your body, brain and spirit will be just fine
