Default Salmon Substitution

Hello,

I'm new here and am not sure this is the right place to ask this question. However, I'll try and see if anyone can answer.

I need a Substitute for Salmon. I do not have access to Fresh Fish at the moment as I am in Bolivia. So, I can either find canned tuna or try something else. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Jeff Price

Here in USA we have canned Salmon that's pretty good actually - I usually make a salad think out of it like tuna salad. Welcome to the boards Big Daddy!

Thank-you! That is an excellent suggestion! I'll see if we have it in our store. We only really have one or two stores to choose from. :-)

And, thanks for the Welcome!!!

Another thought occurred after posting, as far as canned fish goes, Kippered Herring is one of my favorite, Sardines are pretty good too.

Hey Jeff, welcome, looks like you are off to an awesome start...there are only a few fresh fish that I like, so I get most of my fish from canned tuna and salmon. There are lots of things you can do with a can of tuna...

Take your time, find your way around and drop by sometime, we wish you all the best on this journey. How long will you be out of the country? ttyl

Thud123,

Thanks for those other suggestions. We used Chicken! :-)

However, we did locate some canned Salmon from Spain! It is about $7.00 per can! We bought 4 for the next recipe. At that price, I hope it's good! :-)

Jeff
