Default Long time member, I'm so frustrated

First of all, congrats to all who log in everyday! I am breastfeeding and 3 month old and just cannot lose any weight! I know it's only been three months but not an ounce lost in six weeks, or gained. I'm retaining water I can tell and I'm just frustrated.

Last baby I nursed and low carved and lost a ton of weight. Not so much this time. Any insight?

Hi, Rachel. I'm not a mom. But I'd say having a three-month-old breastfeeding baby gives you a pass on every other bodily challenge you may be worried about.

Maybe for now you could just concentrate on eating real food that you enjoy. And enjoy making your baby happy and healthy, too.

Best wishes.

When I had my babies, I wasn't on any diet. My babies are in their 20's now. I nursed both of them! I lost more easily with my first than my second but what helped with both...was getting out and being active. I know that doesn't help with the low-carb portion, but, it's all I have.

Give yourself a little break! You're doing a great thing for your baby!

What are you eating? That water retention is a good clue. Something is going on.
I checked your journal and didn't see the actual food.

When you list your food, include Amounts and timing because it has an affect.

How is the baby gaining? medium, fast, slow?

How many years between babies, and what was your diet like in between?
(wondering if your body is different going into this BF phase than it was before)

FWIW, I NEVER lost much during breastfeeding my four. I'd lose a bunch in the first two weeks or so, then slam to a halt, or, at best, a trickle.

Once they were weaned, I could lose. But I just decided that giving them good nutrition was more important. It killed me to make that decision, but the evidence was clear--at least on the SAD that I was following, along with lots of (OMG) skim milk!
