Default Butter in coffee?

Have any of you tried this? What does it taste like? I'm considering doing it to get more fat in my diet and I love my morning coffee. I also put 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee and i have no issues losing weight.

Wouldn't HWC have more fat than half and half if you want to up your fat intake. Coconut oil works too and it's tasteless -- at least the ones I've tried.

I did a comparison just out of curiosity:

1 T half & half = 1.7 grams fat (19 kcals)
1 T HWC = 5.6 grams fat (52 kcals)
1 T butter = 11.5 grams fat (102 kcals)
1 T Coconut oil = 13.6 grams fat (117 kcals)

Also search on this forum for 'bulletproof coffee"

I use CO in my coffee before I exercise in the morning, gives energy without having food in my stomach.

I did the bulletproof coffee thing for about 6 weeks - 1-2 TBS butter and 2 TB MCO oil. I didn't really like it, and found no real advantages for me...I didn't lose weight any better or suddenly have more energy. But lots of people here think it is very helpful, so try it and see what happens!

I tried using CO in coffee for about six weeks (until I used up my container) and found no advantages either. But then, we all metabolize foods differently.

Now I do too, thanks Janet! Sometimes more sometimes less....it depends on what my meal plan is for the day.

I've never tried butter in my coffee....well, I should say I haven't tried butter in my coffee....yet.

I've been doing butter and coconut oil in my coffee for about 2 months now. I love it. I use a hand blender and find its rich and creamy. I also have found my skin is softer, my hair is softer and my psoriasis have cleared up tremendously. I also love the energy boost I get. It's funny how we are all different.

I'm a buttered coffee convert. Although I never drank coffee much before I started buttering. Now it's my magic morning potion, and I feel it when I forget. (very rare, but it has been left on the counter as I run out the door) Butter and MCT oil keep me going all morning/afternoon long!

Cream in coffee tastes blah and weak to me now. But I hadn't developed a taste for anything in particular before.

It's very good in chicken boullion

The only thing I don't like about boullion is the MSG that's in it. Too much MSG can cause anxiety and other effects like headaches in some people.

I've been having a few issues lately and couldn't figure out what it was. I read this and just jumped up to check my ranch dressing since I've been eating salads all week and these issues just started. Much to my surprise it has msg. Thanks for posting this. I'm going to add that to my list of foods i can't eat and do some more research on the subject (I'm such a research geek!)
