Cricket I think back to induction is a good thing. That's what I did last Thursday once all my travels were done. I'm not officially returning to OWL until tomorrow. After seeing that girl on Atkins doing fast after fast i'm frankly afraid of fasts lol...but good luck to you beautiful Momma Cricket!!

Barb congrats on the little loss and as they say "you're close enough for government work" lol...so glad you were able to maintain ketosis..I hear you food wise...I would be a bold faced liar if I ever said I will never have another brownie or krispy kreme donut for as long as I live. It's a way of life and life is for living just within moderation!

Paulette you know your body so well so I have no doubt you will figure out the right combo to restart your losing..whooshie wishes to you in the morn

Himi so sorry about the power situation. So glad honey bunches of oh's is getting a pros help. I'm picturing this Benny Hill scenario in my head featuring your tile debacle lol..congrats on making your goal though

AND I am UP 1 lb this morning. Hmmm. Whatever. Oh I wish I could start losing again. The lb I lost last week is now gone again. I am just hovering around the same numbers over and over. So I will set a reasonable goal of 2 lbs this week and hope for the best.

CRICKET - I hope you have luck this week and lose mucho weighto. Are you going to fast today? Just water? And for the whole 24 hrs? I wish I could do that, but alas, I cannot.

KATHY - Today is the start of your days off, no? And who is this girl on Atkins doing fast after fast you speak of? Is it who I am thinking of? If so, I always thought her style was very bizzaro. Totally unsustainable. And she would go on "re-feeds" where she ate pizza toppings of all things. Not a very healthy diet!!!! Seemed to negate everything she was fasting for. Wow. I don't care how desperate I am to lose weight - it is not worth that type of thing. I am trying to make this a livable eating plan. I would LOVE to see weight fall off a little faster, but I 'spose I shall lose more eventually. At least I am not starving myself!

I was doing a lot of reading on that "starvation mode" fallacy. I truly don't believe in it. I DO believe in adaptive thermogenesis where your metabolism slows to a degree while dieting. That is acceptable and realistic, but this myth where you stop losing and start gaining when in "starvation mode" is such BS. How stupid. I mean, if this were the case, no one would die of starvation and there would be only fat anorexics. Cripes!

Today I am having a burger patty and bacon & eggs later on. My calories will be 1210. Sodium low. I would add some cheese to my patty and bring the cals up to 1300, but for some reason I just want a plain burger. I want to taste the meat. That's my plan and I' stickin' to it!

I set my goal at 1.9 lbs this week hoping to reach 175. I lost 0.2 today, but I'm due for a stall. I'll check back in tonight.

I added .5 to my goal this time, since I am already down the .5 (plus some) I gained after the "new low". We'll see how it goes-- my son is returning from a 2 year-long religious mission in Mexico tonight (!!!) so I foresee serious home cooking for him as well as some meals out, but by now I should be able to keep it together whatever I cook/wherever we eat, right? It will be a good test

I am not surprised Cricket that one bunny is turning into more bunnies... they are kinda like potato chips--- but be careful putting unfamiliar bunnies together -- even two females sometimes fight pretty violently if either or both are territorial adults. But if the enclosure is big enough it usually minimizes aggression. Putting the bunnies in an area new to both of them when first putting them together can also help alot, since neither has yet claimed the area as their own.

Barb I hope you blaze right through that stall and hit your goal-- 175 is a nice milestone. I am hoping to hit that right around New Years Day.....

Kathy it was pretty comical with all the funny setbacks in the floor saga-- but boy its hopping along quickly now with someone here who truly knows what they are doing. I have been to Home Depot twice already today for stuff we didnt even know existed that he wanted for the job-- it will still be awhile before we have tile down as all the cement board and etc is first, but the finished job will be rock solid.

Wow Paulette, I dont think I have ever known a real Publisher's Clearinghouse winner!! you are right-- $10 is better than no $!

PAULETTE>>>> WTG.. and TEN BUCKS IS A LOT OF CHICKEN AND TUNA!..I agree with the starvation crap Yes, our bodies do begin to become efficient in many ways. But the facts are that we burn fat for energy, and will always do that. We do not shut down and if we gained weight by starving..well... take a look at Ghandi!..You do not have to be bio major to figure this out.
I have no clue who that gal was you and Kathy speak of! ALAS, I am not addicted to fasting and I wanted to do that since my GI track was SOOOO out of kilter.DID I do it.??. NOPE. I wanted to, I intended to.. not just water though.. would have had HC in tea... but ended up with 4 oz pork loin from that roast. AND 3 oz HC. SO no fast.. and is that idiot from the atkins' site anyone I know ??>> certainly not on the team!!!

KATHY... Induction is pretty much how I stay alive, but to me OWL is having addtional somethings here and there. I am so basic it is disgusting. IF I have a 1/4 cottage cheese I do not go into a tail spin..and that happnes like 3 times a YEAR! SO, have no worries.. Momma is fine and sane... I have not even had cheeses in ages. Have given up the ommlettes as well. I have a container of mushrooms that I will slice up and make into a broth with some seasoning ( green onions/scallions) and then slow cook with the tough steak I have saved. I'll slice it thin.. that is as as fancy as I get now. AND yes, you are correct that we life life and food will always be part of living.We are learning to be moderate and to be accountable and from what I can see, we are doing just that. One day does not become 2days and 2 days not a week. AND WE GET BACK ON TRACK! We can try to lie to ourselves, but not to each other!!!

HIMI.. I SOOOO understand that tile mishap! With us, it happened with one of the homes I had built in South Florida. I ordered white marble tiles 18" on the diagnal with white grout.. I made sure I was there daily to oversee every detail.. good thing since I walked in and saw the tile down and the grout being filled in... dark veined tile 12" with dark gray grout!!! OMG half the foyer and livingroom were done.. still wet though.. had the contractor on speed dial.. and he argued that the people were laying what I ordered.. UNTIL HE GOT THERE!!! SO, quite a job to get all that up.. and I am happy you are getting it done correctly! When Carl and I decided to build a home together after we married, he did not understand my insanity about going daily to oversee the work.. well.. they did not do one thing correctly..not one thing... happily sold that place the same week I took possession!

MY pals... I am so dumb at times and the obvious escapes me!..so here is something I JUST tried and now hooked...we all drink a lot.. we all must be getting bored, and it is HOT .. so...I had some coffee in the pot and figured I would have ice coffee and do not have HC in that ( all good).. well, instead of just adding the ice and sweetener, I put it in the blender and set it for iced drink.. out came a frothy wonderful shake!! Next I did that with the grape water enhancer....YESS...I like shakes andiced drinks so how cool was that! So simple and I never thought of it..D~U~M~B!

Mowed part of field for Jodi's Beckham, and about 1/3 my field that was weedy. If you have had horses or other pasture animals, they eat what they like and the rest grows.Weeds can easily take over. Well, our spoiled ponies eat the young grasses and not the long stuff.Heaven forbid they taste a weed..so, I keep the longer areas mowed..and don't you know, that as soon as I mow an area, over will come the 3 chuckle heads to eat the short grass!!! It is 99 degrees and really hot sitting in the sun withthe heat from the motor blowing up at you! I did not complete what needed doing but close enough.
My shoulder is killing me but I really DO have to get these things done.Time is running out.MRI is in a few days

I DID lose lots of the water.. I weighed in this morning at 147.8!! I will change my goal after I knock off this 6.2 gain. I want to be 135 again SOON!!! ROLLING UP MY SLEEVES...

HIMI.. we doubled... thy for the bunny tidbits We have to wait for a larger cage.. this is way too tiny for even one really. Maybe a guenea pig but not the bunny... YES, you can keep it together with cooking and eating out.You have that control.You have lots of choices and none havve to be bad. Your son's home coming is a big event and I am sure he will be happy to help you get into better health! THAT is a big mission all in of itself! Give him a big HOWDIE from all his new AUNTS here LOL ..HOME DEPOT??? GREAT! That is where Carl works

Good afternoon ladies!

I so feel like a sloth having these days off! I can think of a million things I would like to do but can't seem to get the hmmph to do any of them.
I took Dakoda to Azuma Teppan grill today for lunch...kinda like Binihana..food they cook in front of you and do tricks. I feel like i'm watching performing monkeys at a circus...anyhoo fun fun. I did have a little rice 2 egg rolls but other than that all was good. I'm sure it will knock me temporarily out of ketosis. I'm having a cup of coffee with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to get my fats up.
I plan to spend the rest of the evening catching up with the Kardashians and Orange is the new black.

Paulette way to go! I've never met anyone that won so much as a penny so i'm impressed! Splurge on some low carb goodies! Too bad you can't pay your body to drop a couple pounds ha ha

Himi so glad you're finally making progress on that floor. Blessings to your son for mission service. Enjoy your precious time with him! I'm trying to get as much time as I can with Dakoda before he moves to China so I can totally appreciate mommy/son moments in time.

Barb hope you had a good day at work!

Paulette: Congratulations on your winnings! I've also never heard of anyone winning. I probably would have thought it was fake check and shredded it before I figured out it was real. Too bad it didn't have a few more zeros, but just like our weight, every little bit helps.

You are doing great with your eating. It's hard to be patient, but you'll see a whoosh soon and your efforts will pay off...just like your big check!

Cricket: Great loss today! Hoping that it continues and that you see 135 again soon. Thanks for the suggestion on the drinks. I'm not a coffee drinker but the water enhancer and ice sounds pretty good. I used to drink it with the crushed ice at work, but now just try to drink water. However, I know I would drink a lot more liquid if it had a little flavor so I may have to try it again. Maybe I'll limit it to a couple of afternoons a week.

Sorry you are still dealing with the heat. especially to have to mow in it. We had a couple of days last week in the 80's but are now back in the 70's. It has not been a warm summer for us. It was comical to heat about your finicky horses! They even have their food preferences!

Kathy: So glad you are having some mommy/son time. How long will your son be in China? At least now we have the technology of Skype and face time, but it's not the same as having them close to you. I am fortunate that two of my sons still live here and the one that lives in NC comes home pretty often. Enjoy the time you have with him before he leaves.

Himi: So good to hear your floor is coming along. Please be sure to post a picture when it is done. You're being aggressive in this week's goal, especially with the great losses you've had. Good for you! I wasn't that brave. With your determination, you'll meet your goal for the week as well as your New Year's goal.

Enjoy your time with your son! What a great commitment that he has made and accomplished. Does he have to go anywhere else? You will do fine with your meals and eating out. We eat out quite a bit and I can usually make good choices by asking questions and ordering the types of foods I can eat. I guess the thing that frustrates me the most is having to pay for a full meal and not getting the potato or carby sides.

Shout out to Chrissie!

Jodi: It looks like you're on the downward slide again after your weekend celebration. Way to get back on it!

Hi KATHY..whick son is going?? Was it Dakoda I met?? OMG what is taking him there???Wish him well! TY for mentioning the fats.. I had almost none today so I'll gulp down some HC straight.

BARB...is work letting up a bit yet? Do you ever do the IRON BUTT challenges? Carl's bro does that stuff. Forget IRON BUTT.. he has calloused butt! We have lots of bikers here all the time. LARGE Harley outlets here. Your scale is moving and nothing wrong with the kiddie slide I fully expect a water gain again, but sure hope I get down more first. DON'T WE ALL LOL!

No reason not to have all the enhancers you want. they have zero everything so enjoy. I am already looking forward to my grape frothy drink and the watermelon too! It really made the cofee so much better than the usual hot stuff. Not using the HC in there was nice too!

ABOUT that wonderful concoction I brewed today with the mushrooms and scallions.. let me tellya.. no way was that beef ever getting soft or tender!! SHOE LEATHER had a better chance. It did make a nice small broth and was super tastey since I added a few drops of southern sweet tea enhancer. Have no clue as to what the carbs were. I used 3 mushrooms ( med) and 1/4 cup scallions. Do not imagine it was off the wall. I also did have one slice of American cheese. Have no idea why other than solid was needed.Right now my ring is quite loose and my weight is 145 so we will see what the morning brings!
