Default I've been making this Asparagus Side for years...

The carbs aren't too bad and this is an awesome twist to regular asparagus.

2 C Water
2 lbs. Asparagus
2 Tbs. Butter
1 pkg. (8oz) fresh sliced mushroom
1-1/2 tsp. chopped fresh or 1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper (I like it coarse)
1/4 C Shredded Parmesan Cheese
1/4 C Chopped hazelnuts

Heat water to boiling in 12" skillet. Add asparagus. Heat to boiling, reduce to medium. Cover and cook 4-6 minutes until crisp tender. Drain and set aside.

Melt butter in skillet over medium-high and stir in mushrooms. Cook 2-3 minutes stirring frequently until mushrooms are light brown.

Stir asparagus, basil, salt & pepper into mushrooms until veggies are coated with seasonings and asparagus is heated through. Sprinkle with cheese and hazelnuts.

YUM...

Makes 8 servings. One serving is approximately 5 carbs.
