Default Protein Powder

Hi!

I am shopping for some protein powder that would be approved of by Dr. S and that also uses stevia as a sweetner. I have bought the pp off of Dr. S's website, but you don't get much, it's expensive, and it's not sweetened. I know some of you make your own protein bars and I would love to find out what kind you are using.

Thanks in advance!!

Tig

I order mine from www.proteinfactory.com. You can specify what sweetener you want, including stevia. You can order single protein powders, blends, or customize. The prices are reasonable.

Hi Jen!

Thanks for the info! I've ordered some--made my own custom blend--and can't wait to get it. I have really gotten into making my own protein bars.

Hi Rascal!

I'm in the process of "perfecting" my protein bars. The last batch was too salty and not quite right. Also, I've noticed that things that taste good to me, do not always taste good to others--I guess I have to attribute that to my lack of sugar intake. Anyway, I'm going to post the recipe as soon as I get them right.

Thanks Tig

I have found the same thing. Things that taste totally sweet to me, my family wants to pour sugar on. It is amazing how our taste buds change. I have been making some whole wheat muffins with very low sugar and I think the kids are getting used to them because that is all I am offering. My little boy even said that the Poppy seed muffins tasted better than Costco's. Of course the older and WISER kids let him know that he was dead wrong. One day at a time.

Hi Tig

Thanks for your posts. Very helpful. Have you perfected that recipe for protein bars yet? I would be happy to get a hold of it!

Best to you,

Hey Meera,

I'm still working on them. I actually think they are responsible for me gaining more weight. Arg!! They do have a 1/4 of a stick of butter in one bar and I know that I should be laying off saturated fats to minimize fat gain but I just can't seem to give up both sugar and yummy saturated fat. I am not that strong. LOL!! Anyway, when I get them tasting a little less bitter, I'll post or at least PM the recipe to you. I think it's my protein powder blend that is causing the bitter taste, so I'm going to order a slightly different concoction this next time. Hey, by the way, I don't believe that your starting weight was 1140 lbs. If so, congratulations on your amazing transfiguration!! LOL!!!
