Default "This Ad brought to you by Team Network" pop-up

Wa'il,

I don't know if I should put this under the spyware thread, but I'm getting a pop-up from "Team Network" only when I visit the forum. Other locations on the web, I don't get it. I just ran two search and destroy programs, and as soon as my computer is declared clean and immunized, I come here and "whammo!* that darn pop-up is back.

I'm using IE as my browser when this happens, too, if that helps.

Am I the only one getting this...oddly enough, it's an ad telling me my computer is infected with spyware

Thanks!
Lisa

It's definitly not from our site. We only run the Google text ad, and even that one does not show up for contributing members.

Can you provide more details about the ad? What site does it link to, an image capture would be nice, and a View/Page Source, etc.

The more details you provide, the more information we have to find which spyware is causing them.

I may have found it

Some free software programs downloaded over the net install it as "adware".

Example from "Team Network":

and Kaza, plus many other programs. Do you have any such thing running?

Have you had one installed in the past, then removed it? Note that removing the software doe not always remove the "adware/spyware", as they are designed to be "sticky"

No, I didn't "install" it, but in the last few days, I'd noticed this little moon in my tray. Sure enough, it's that Daily Horoscope site!

Arghh! Now I'll have to figure out how to get rid of that since it doesn't seem to trigger my spyware detection programs.

Off to my uninstaller,
Lisa

P.S. How do you computer wizards do it?
