Default Meat & Egg Fast & 4 Hour Body?

I am experimenting with something.

Basically doing the meat & egg fast 6 days per week and then having a "binge" day on Saturday eating whatever I want.

This is based on my knowledge gained from the Atkins books, information gathered for the meat & egg fast from this thread and other boards, and The 4 Hour Body book by Tim Ferriss which has a low-carb diet plan for 6 days per week and then a "binge" day on Saturday's.

I will update this thread on my results. This is basically the first week of trying this out since the holidays were just last week.

Anyone have any input or tried anything similar?

I did try the 4 hour body, but it didn't work for me. It caused food cravings and uncontrollable hunger. Hopefully you will have better luck! Keep us posted.

I have a friend who said that it didn't work for him either. This is an experiment and I get a lot more support from my gf if I can eat carbs once a week.

Down 9 lbs so far due to the meat & egg fast WOE since day 1 Sunday. I think that due to the holidays, I put on about 10 lbs of water weight by "cheating", but I only see that as a temporary obstacle and have a lot of days before my birthday in February to really crack down about my eating habits and give this experiment a good duration of time to see if it works.

I'm going to eat whatever I want on Saturday and will have no limits. Day 1 will start again next Sunday, and I will weigh in to see how much water weight is gained from 1 day of no limits. Hopefully this works.

Are you using any of the other tricks?
Like cold baths/showers?
lemon before high carb meals/days?
cinnamon in your coffee?

Some of these make sense but idk, never proved or disproved them myself.

I have not been trying those other strategies as I'm following the meat & egg fast during the week & Sunday's and basically only follow the "cheat day" guideline from 4 Hour on Saturday's.

How did your cheat day go? Back on meat and egg only today right?

I'm curious how you feel after a cheat day too. It takes me so long to get into ketosis and feel healthier low carb I would never consider messing it up with a binge, but the re-feed concept is common.

I feel good. I only put on a couple of pounds of water weight. Now I can focus on LC for the week and take down a list of foods that I would like on the "cheat" day.

This next Saturday, I am going to have a high protein, LC breakfast and have grapefruit juice/green tea before/during the first "junk" meal at lunch.

I actually had the water weight come back on Tuesday - about 10 lbs so I'm working that off now. Somewhat frustrating but I did not realize to eat a low carb/high protein breakfast on my cheat day. I started the day eating what I wanted. I'm still losing weight quickly I'm sure and have not checked if I'm in ketosis but I'm sure that I am.

This Saturday, I will eat the low carb/high protein breakfast and then eat what I want from lunch onward.

This is an experiment, it should be expected to hit some bumps in the road.

In case people are checking up. The week before, I had basically kept at the same weight - due to me not following the 4 hour cheat day guideline of eating a low carb breakfast and drinking 8 oz of grapefruit juice and some supplements before the cheat meals at lunch and dinner. I did that this past Saturday and only gained 2-3 lbs in the few days afterward. Now I'm down to losing again and expect to lose about 4-5 lbs per week.

It's a lot of peace of mind to know that I have this thing basically figured out. Once I get down to my target weight and it starts to get out of hand with the weight gain, I have a plan to combat it right away that is practical and I can maintain this for the rest of my life.

I'll keep posting in here with my progress.

It does take me a day or two to get back into minimal ketosis and I get crabby on Sunday's, but maybe that's because I have to go back to work the next day haha.

I think that my mind and body has gotten used to the schedule of cheat day followed by 6 days of minimal carb consupmtion. I definitely don't have hunger/cravings on Sunday's as I did when starting this just weeks ago.
