i usually get on the tread mill and my legs hurt. i have not started on the abs. i was waiting to loose some more weight. i have not been on my tread mill in a week and a half. i have school at night and just do not have time. i guess i could get on it during the day but i like doing it at night so i can take a bath and go to bed afterwards. excuses, excuses. I love the good feel when your abs hurt from excercise.

have a great day!

if you are doing light enough aerobic-type work it doesn't hurt to do any exercises for any body part every day.

once you start doing more work (more reps, more weight, more sets, etc) and start working the muscles hard, you know you should give your muscle groups a day off to rest and get stronger.

no reason to treat your abdominal muscles differently. if you are working them hard - give them a day off, just like legs or chest.

If you are working them easy and light (like walking/jogging is for legs), don't give them a day of rest - but rest them on your rest day.

just MHO.

Default Do you have to?

Don't work out through soreness!

Do 3-4 times a week instead.

It is not recommended to work out through soreness unless it is a different kind of stimulation. Example, if you do 8 reps sets on monday, do 30 reps on tuesday or wednsday to aid in the lactic acid removal.

Think of it that way. You are sore because you caused microscopic tears in your muscles, right? Give them time to recover and rebuild themselves! If you workout when they are still sore, you will be tearing them appart again before thay have the chance to recover and rebuild themselves again.

I hope this makes sense.

Plus, you don't have to work em out everyday! Stretch instead.

Good Luck

Loony
