Default High blood pressure...

Just a note on high blood pressure. It does not have to run in your family for you to develop it. Having a family history of it is an indicator that you may be at higher risk for it, but not having a family history of it is by no means a guarantee that you will never develop it yourself.

I just want to let the moderators know how much I appreciate having this forum tolerate many different opinions.

Nsmith4366 We may disagree, but that's okay.

Well, there is your answer! How long have you been at it? Don't think you even need to see a doctor...just look on the side of the cigarette package, they spell it out for you there.

Good luck to you, and you certainly can't go wrong with fruit and veggies...just steer clear of the sugar and white flour as we all here do.

Crystal,

Hope you are feeling better and the rest of your tests come back with good results.

Not sure if this means anything or not, but a few years ago my aunt was told by her doctor that she needed heart surgery because of problems she was having, such as palpitations and dizzy spells. When she was sent to Minneapolis for the surgery, the cardiologist there ran more tests and told her that there was nothing wrong with her heart. The heart palpitations and dizziness were caused by a very low level of potasium from the diuretics she was taking. Hopefully that is what is causing your problems also and some supplements will fix it.

As for the high blood pressure, PP states that some people are sensitive to an acid found in egg yolks and red meats (especially in the fat). If you increased your consumption of eggs and red meats when you began low carb and you are sensitive, that might explain the increase in blood pressure. PP suggests eliminating egg yolks and red meats for 2 weeks to see if the blood pressure comes down.

Please keep us posted regarding how you are doing.
