Default How about a Zero Carb forum?

... in the Daily Low-Carb Support section?

Surely it would get more traffic than the Schwarzbein Principle? I think there is a significant number of zero-carbers and many might welcome a place to discuss their specific concerns and ask questions of other zero carbers.

Although I'm not at zero, I'm damn close, and would enjoy a forum for it.

Maybe something like Zero and Very Low Carb?

I think some people who consider themselves to be zero carbers allow that they get a carb here and there, even if it's just some starch in their vitamins, so I tend to use the term loosely.

It could also serve as a place for people who are trying to break a stall on other plans and going temporarily VLC maybe.

There are people who just eat meat and water, or restrict carbs further than Atkins induction, like 5-10 g per day... you know, weirdos

I don't know if there are enough of them for a forum but I thought there might be considering people mention doing VLC in various other threads.

Hi everyone! I am one of the "weirdos", lol. I started meat and eggs on Friday. I am hoping it speeds up my weight loss. It has been very slow lately. So far, i feel great. I will weigh in tomorrow or Friday to see if i lost anything. Here is an example of what i am eating: breakfast- 2 fried eggs in butter, 1 hamburger patty lunch- beef short ribs baked dinner- baked chicken wings and deviled eggs. I still have some carbs, but not many. And i dont feel hungry eating this way either. I sure hope it helps to kick my weight loss into gear again!

Do you only go on VLC diets for a short period?? Surely its not too healthy to have no vegetables in your diet.

A lot of people only do it for a short period of time, whilst others do it permanently. Some people use the meat and egg fast to break a long term stall, some adopt that as a permanent way of eating.

As long as the fat and caloric content is high enough not having vegetables is what a lot of enjoy and are perfectly healthy on. Check some of the back threads for meat and egg for life, or some of the stuff in the paleo/neanderthin board.

This is my first time doing VLC. I have not made up my mind if i will continue with it or use it to break a stall. I will take one day at a time for now, and i hope so badly it starts my weight loss again!

Sounds like a good idea to me

Let me ask you this, Pamela; what if you didn't lose much more weight, but felt great on it?

Hmmm, good question! Well, i have to be honest...right now i am looking to get rid of the weight. I still have about 75 pounds to go. But after losing most of that, i would definitely go back to eating this way for the rest of my life. I have read on a few other sites how this way of eating is very healthy and gives you so much energy.

An honest answer is a good answer I say, give it a shot, and see what happens.

I did "zero carb" for a month. I had a hard time getting enough fat even with dipping my meat in sour cream and cooking everything in butter. Other than that, I felt fine.

Vegetables, though tasty, ARE optional. I like them and enjoy 30-40g of carbs more than 10 or under.
