Default 110 pounds, 1 year and 4 months, hit goal...

On December 31st, I hit my goal of 180 lbs. (Strangely, I had set a goal of hitting 200 lbs. by my birthday, which I hit exactly on my birthday, then set goal of 180 by 2004, and hit it on 12/31/03).

Thank you to everyone on this site for helping me so much throughout this process!! Special thanks to those few that I have singled out in the past, you know who you are.

I feel great (and look great, I think (I hope)?), but I still want to lose about another 10 lbs. 16 months ago, I weighed 290 lbs., and I was mentally and physically unhealthy (to say the least). I have completely rebuilt my life from hitting those lows over a year ago. I am rollerblading, playing beach volleyball, doing all sorts of other stuff, and I am skiing again, a passion of mine that I had given up due to being so out of shape.

When I started I measured (male) (approximately) 50 chest and 48 waist (XXL); now I am a 41 chest and a 34 waist (medium).

LCing has become a way of life for me, and it has become rather effortless to stick with it. Although I have occasionally over-indulged in LC foods, I have not binged or "cheated" significantly since I started. I am a big believer in having flexibility and indulging occasionally, and I have given myself permission to do so; but I just have chosen not to up to this point.

Thank you again to everyone for contributing to my success, and if there is anything that I can do to help you, just let me know.

Michael

WOW!! Nice post and amazing on reaching your goals. Don't you feel like you can accomplish anything now? LOL. I am on the same road as you and have lost quite a bit of weight and do feel so much better. I had set a whole bunch of goals for myself as you did and one of them was to quit smoking, which I did over a year ago. Then came the weight! Heck I still say quitting the smokes was a joke compared to something that is part of your life everyday(food).

I am blown away by your measurements especially your waist. I used to be a 32-34 when I was in university some years back and at its worst it was a 41. Now down to 36(ok so that's on a good day) but I hear yah about still wanting to lose a few more. Everyone will tell yah, oh you look so good... don't get any smaller... you don't need to lose any more. Man we never listen and in a sense we know our bodies and our drive and our goals. Parents are the worst. My mom always tells me I look good - but that doesn't COUNT!! LOL.

Gratz again bro.

take care
Claudius

I am so happy for you! What a glorious accomplishment! I liked what you said about it is almost effortless, I've had so many people tell me how much better I look, and how I must have worked SO hard. I didn't really want to tell them how EASY lowcarbing is, lol. But I have told them that it is the easiest thing I've ever done and at this point it's just the way I eat, it's not something I think about constantly, you know? I can't wait to hit goal myself, and this WILL be the year.

have a great day!

Krista
