Default Greetings from BC

Hello everyone.
I won't bore you with every single detail about me, but I live on the Sunshine Coast in BC Canada with my wife and numerous fur kids. We did Atkins together a few years ago, but since then she's lost all interest and so this time I'm going it alone. I'm on day five of the first week of Induction and the sugar cravings FINALLY went away (good gods, I thought they'd never leave) and I can finally look at a piece of bread without wanting to immediately consume it. I call that progress.

I've lost 5 lbs so far, and have so many more to go. It's really hard for me to lose weight, not sure why, but even on Atkins the progress on the scale is super, super slow. So much so that I do not weigh myself daily because it would just discourage me. I measure more. So far I've lost some inches so I'm happy. I just hope I can keep it up.

I strength train as well, currently doing P90X (which reminds me, I have to 'push play' right after I sign off here) and I am heavily involved in the horse community here.

I'm looking forward to meeting folks and learning as I go. I'm feeling optimistic about low carb this time round. Have a great day!

Welcome here Kimba. I'm new too. You must be pretty determined! To have bread where you can look at it and resist it!! What works for me is keeping a distance from stuff I want, especially in someone else's kitchen. When I'm at home, I just don't purchase things that I can't have. Unfortunately I haven't been home since I started this way of eating, So when I get there I will have the challenge of cleaning out my pantry. Best of luck to you. Hope your wife will soon be onboard. Much easier together.

Thanks for the welcome! Well, with my wife buying candy and bread and pasta and bringing it into the house I don't really have much choice than to just do what's right and not eat the junk. lol I'm sure I'll cave in eventually, but I always try to say, "Not today". I agree, it's much easier together! I'm hoping when I start to really lose, she'll see it works and give it a go, too.
