Yes! One bite is too much because 100 bites are never enough!

Reviving this thread because it's good to know we ALL can slip sometimes and learning why can stop the next one.

In Overeaters Anonymous they say "never get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired (HALT)". Looking back, every slip I've ever had was triggered directly or indirectly by one of those states. For me, the trick is to recognize which one it is before I reach for the first bite of carbs because after that first bite all bets are off.

By way of example, I often walk out to the receptionist's desk at work fully intending to take a piece of the candy that's always on offer there. I hover over the bowl, think to myself "why are you here doing this" and then answer myself with "because my boss is a maniac" or "because I'm starving and don't have time to go out and pick up something nutritious" or "I'm so tired that what I really want is to go home and fall into bed" etc., etc. Just answering the question makes the candy less appealing and I can usually turn around and walk away. The receptionist probably thinks I'm a weird woman who often comes by just to look at candy, LOL. Of course, if I go ahead and take a piece I'll be back for another, and another, and....

I got the big "T" yesterday, from HALT, and nearly bought a bag of M&M's. Being Angry or Tired are my biggest issues. Not that I get angry often, more just frustrated.
