I was also just reading my old Atkins Complementary Medicine book. He also says that diruetics can raise FBG. Maybe I'll be lucky and that's all it will have been. *cross eyes*

10 years ago FBG <140 was still pre-diabetic, same way as CHO <300 was 240 was fine too.
Lower limit= more potential patients.

Just wanted to thank you for all the info and support- I stopped my statins!
Had leg cramps that got sooo bad- I called the MD and they said to stop. I had all my lipids retested 2 weeks later- and then told the MD no more statins. He listened!
My total cholesterol went up 40 points- all LDL. My ratios are terrific, and most of the LDL is the large type, so I am still low-risk.
(TC/HDL=3.36, LDL/HDL=2.1, TG/HDL=1.19)

thanks again-
E

If you are on a diuretic in addition to low-carbing it is pretty vital to check your potassium levels on a regular basis. You may need a supplement. Very low potassium can cause your heart to function abnormally and will cause hideous muscle cramps as well.
