Default Adding peanut butter to a cheesecake recipe

Hi Karen,

I am making this recipe this weekend for my Mom and Dad's birthdays. I want to make it with peanut butter instead of lemon zest. Would you have any idea how much peanut butter I should add and should I use sugar free peanut butter? I will omit the lemon zest so would I add the same amount that called for the zest?

Here is the link to the recipe:

Thank you

Jarcat

PS Do you know of a better recipe than this? Maybe lower in carbs? One I can add peanut butter too?

The recipe looks like a pretty standard cheesecake recipe.

What you could do is use 1/4 lb less cream cheese and add 1/2 cup of peanut butter when mixing the cream cheese until smooth. You could add more peanut butter - at least I would - up to a cup for a bigger peanut butter taste. And use a natural peanut butter - Adam's is an good brand that is available here and most grocery stores carry it.

It would raise the carbs, but using peanuts for the crust instead of the nuts would make it more peanutty. Or use half almonds and half peanuts.
