Default Your loss on M&E Fast?

Hi all

I put on some water weight from eating out a few times last week (didn't cheat, though!), so I've been eating meat only dinners for the last 3 days to encourage things back on track. I was surprised how un-hungry I was for the rest of the evening! I typically eat King, Prince, Pauper anyway but meat only dinner made that 10x easier! My 4-week induction loss is only 10lbs (I lost about 16lbs the first time 2 years ago). Not horrible, but not at all the rate I used to experience. I'd really like to shake things up, as I'm only 10lbs away from my first goal.

Anyway, my point is... I know many of you have tried or are currently on the Meat & Egg diet. What has your success been like?

- How many pounds did you lose in how many days?
- What weight came back as soon as you added carbs back in?

Thanks!

yes I always have success with it..

im doing it now with a challenge group on another support board (sorry) and ive lost 8 pounds in 8 days. I dont do strict meat and eggs.. I do add spices, I do drink coffee/diet soda, and I do drink a protein shake. the main thing for me is no dairy/starch/veggie/cheese.

I use this to get my cravings and carb counts in check. the point is, if you lose weight right away on this, your carb count was too high (and maybe you were missing soemthing in your counts). It also gets you into ketosis really quick if you have bounced out.

not everyone agrees with doing this, not everyone thinks its the right thing to do. some of us find it very useful

let me know if i can help you in any way shape or form and Ill do my best

Thanks! I'll check over there....

I wonder how much is just water weight, though. Any time I see more than a pound drop overnight, I figure it's water.

I seen the same thing. However, I then typed in lowcarbfriends.com just for the heck of it and I think I found the forum she was talking about.

Well from all the threads and buddy groups I read over on lcfriends, people were losing about .5-.75lbs a day (averaged out over a week). Those who were already on induction when they started lost slower, but still about 5lbs a week. I'm guessing if you're already well hydrated and on induction, you're not carrying around much water weight as it is. I've reached a "comfort zone" weight and it's not budging, so I think I'll give this a try for a couple of days next week.

After a 7 months stall from hell, I stumbled upon the meat and eggs thing.

I started low carbing Feb 2004, and lost 120 pounds the first 12 months. It was a decent weight loss, so when the stall hit, I found it very frustrating.

I went back into induction...nothing happened. I upped my cardio workouts to 6 times a week... nothing happened. I tried adding extra calcium, D, Flaxseed oil... nothing happened.

Maybe after 6 months I was just due for a weight loss, but the meat and eggs did kick me out of my stall.

I only did it for 2 weeks, after two weeks my body just told me to stop. (Lack of fiber was a big issue for me)

In two weeks I dropped 11 pounds. I stopped, went back to my regular low carb eating, and dropped another 4 pounds the 3rd week.

320-185...

now if only I could find some magic fairy dust for the last 20 pounds.. id be set.

Laura

Hi. Can someone please post an example menu of what a day on the M&E fast would consist of? I am thinking about doing it, since I can't seem to drop the 10 lbs. I gained when I stopped smoking 7 months ago. Thanks!!

Does the M&E thing include fats too, like mayo and coconut oil?
