I've just printed a good shopping list and am heading over to Extra Foods after work. Looking forward to searching out the low carb products they may actually have in stock.

Nope. Lots of low fat this and that. Nothing at all low carb.

However, I did find one product made by Presidents Choice (store brand for Loblaws chain). It's for Buffalo wings. No carb, fat or calories and low sodium!

http://www.presidentschoice.ca/Food...eMild/catid/178

I bought two bottles. Only $1.99 each.
They have mild and hot versions.

Seriously, if you need stuff, let me know - I can get bbq sauces, ketchup, etc...

and thre are a lot of naturally low carb stuff too - for example - classico spinich spagetti sauce, and classico alfredo are very low carb. Salsa can be your best friend LOL...and butter and hot sauce rock on hot wings.

I marinate meat a lot in salad dressings - mix salad dressing - ie: ranch with a little soy and a few spices, it is amazing on chicken or pork...or greek salad dressing on beef...experiment with stuff, and it is amazing what you can do .

Thanks Teresa and Lora. I'm going to head over to the Co-op on the weekend and see if they have any kind of a selection of low carb stuff. Right now I'm sticking with meat, eggs, cheese and certain vegies. I am feeling a lot better and have more energy. Not hungry at all. I'm going to be living on Subway wraps (low carb) for lunch for a while, and it's convenient since it's only half a block away from my office.

Other than my health and general well being, I found another super reason to stick to this change. My boyfriend called me this morning at 6, from work 300 miles away, to ask what I think of him inviting his parents to visit. Um, ok, I'd love it. However they don't even know I exist yet and we've been living together 8 months. They're recent immigrants and want their children to have perfect happy lives. This should be interesting.

Now if only I could take a 3 week crash course in learning to speak Albanian..

Thank you I am feeling better already.

When I was shopping yesterday I looked at the carb content of a lot of my favourite products. Lets say it was a rude awakening.

How great that you have a gym! I wish I did! I am working on getting a treadmill myself. I know you will do well, as I am the laziest person I know of, and I have lost 14 pounds and have tons of energy! I have about 165 pounds left to lose, and I am retaining water from the heat, but I know I can do it and so can you! Congratulations on your descision for better health!
