Rebounder Observations
Thinking of buying rebounder (mini-trampoline)? I just bought one yesterday, a replacement for the one I used years ago. Got it used off Craig's list for $25. It has bands, not springs. I think it will be adequate for normal usage--once or twice a week.
Today I used it with Leslie Sansone's Walk and Kick workout--a walking workout incorporating simple kickboxing moves.
The rebounder reduces impact and increases intensity at the same time. Also, it increases the use of core muscles required to keep your balance. I found that it's important to remember to land on the whole foot--landing on toes causes stress on the lower back. Using the rebounder made this workout sweatier for sure!
I'm glad I got the rebounder. I'll use it for indoor cardio days, probably adapting my Sansone walk workouts, or simply putting on some Motown and jogging to the beat.
If you're looking for something to jolt you into the exercise habit, this could be it. It's kinda fun.
