At one point in my journey I followed this plan. I had gained back 20 pounds by allowing myself to add back some higher carb foods. The scale was driving me crazy so I threw it out (it was old). Then I stayed strictly on plan for 2 years. When I had a physical at my doctor's I learned that I was 30 pounds down. For me this worked perfectly. No need for patience, just discipline and I was committed to low carb eating so that wasn't a problem.

Hi Billy. Are there things you're putting off until you're slim? What's on your list of, "once I'm thin, I'll _________ "?

"Date (if you're single)?" Do it now! "Start dressing nicer/get a new wardrobe?" Do it now! You don't have to spend a fortune. "Ride a bike/swim/etc?" Do it now!

Is "Eat crap like a normal person" on that list? Fight that one! It really has to sink into your brain that "normal" is actually really effed up, and we're the ones eating like human beings were designed to. It's forever... or you regain the weight.

Something else that can cause impatience: make sure you're enjoying your food. I'm giving you sort of the opposite message of other folks in this thread, because if you hate your food or you feel like this lousy LC diet is penance for a lifetime of junk food and you're missing out, you might not stick around long. I know I wouldn't. If I didn't have great food to look forward to, I'd have been outta here long ago and/or cheating all the time. I've learned to cook, I've made it my hobby, I plan ahead and make sure I have choices of lots of good LC food, and it's critical to my success and happiness.

Best of luck.
