Red face PPLP and Diabetes

I've been on PPLP for three weeks and I feel good. The first week I was constipated and had headaches but that soon went away. I'm also a Type 2 diabetic which kind of complicates things. My weight loss has been slow; only two pounds so far and I've read in the Atkins book that this could be because of the diabetic oral medications I take.
I find breakfasts the worst part of it; the rest of the day is easy. So I've started having protein shakes with a few strawberries in the morning; much better than all those greasy eggs. For lunch I have a chicken caesar salad. Lettuce, cucumber, small handful of toasted pumpkin seeds, chicken and Caesar dressing. I feel full on that.
If anyone know of a recipe for a good homemade protein, low carb bar please post it. The ones in the stores are kind of expensive.

Hi there! You're right: store-bought bars are expensive. Plus, they're usually sweetened with malitol or other <strike>laxatives</strike> I mean, sugar alcohols. At least you have access to Splenda and can make your own.

Here's a page with some recipes:

http://www.carb-lite.au.com/61CONFE...IONARYBars.html

There are actually a lot of good recipes on that site.

...and here are some recipes from our site:

Note: I haven't tried any of them. This is not an endorsement.

Good luck!
