Can I get some clarification on the radish topic? We are not talking about turnips, right? Radishes, while good have a slightly spicy taste to them. Is that what people are using for faux hash browns? The salad sounds so delicious, I am anxious to try that one out.

I am talking about radishes. When cooked in bacon fat with onions they lose the spiciness. Turnips work too, as well as rutabagas. I've tried them all, just like the radishes the best. Try them all and see which you like the best!

ETA: Should have shared that we are having this cauliflower salad again tonight with pork loin. It is so good and a refreshing summer salad!

Boil the radishes like you would potatoes, they lose all their spiceyness and most of the red color (no peeling required) and then make your salad as always, my mom always used Miracle whip, so I take 1/2 cup of Hellmans, 1Tbls lemon, and paprika and 1 stevia env., really good!! Enjoy...

Hey Kat, wanted to let you know that you can buy sugar free sweet relish. Vlasic makes one and I don't know if you have a Kroger, but they have a store brand version that I use. I don't do sugar either and I think I'd be lost without my sugar free relish for this salad and my tuna salad! Also good on (bunless) hot dogs w/mustard occasionally.

Sorry for the confusion - you were talking radishes - I should have included quotes from earlier discussions on this thread. Turnip hash browns and the cauli "potato" salad were discussed. I finally tried them. I have used Daikon radish to make a faux potato gratin. I found the Daikon very sweet.

Thanks! We don't have Kroger here but if Vlasic makes it, I'll find it! That would be great to have.

I'm sure most of my weight came from potatoes, and a huge portion of my garden is dedicated to radishes....coincidence? I think not! I can not wait to try all of these radish ideas .

Trinity Hill Farm does a number of sauces and marinades which use stevia and are seemingly good. The barbecue one gets 5* on Amazon. Unfortunately, I haven't tried them for myself - they're not available in the UK.

Aldi's has cauliflower (about 1 pound 3 ounces) for 99 cents!
that makes the faux potato salad cheaper!
(i hate when cauliflower is expensive)
