Default Different digestion times for different animal proteins

I've been research into the times it takes to digest different protein and eggs in particular. It turns out eggs are very quickly digested - almost as quickly as fruit! Here is a table I got from www.freetrainers.com

Animal proteins

Egg yolk - 30 min. digestion time
Whole egg - 45 min.
Fish - cod, scrod, flounder, sole seafood - 30 min. digestion time
Fish - salmon, salmon trout, herring, (more fatty fish) - 45 min. to 60 digestion time
Chicken - 11/2 to 2 hours digestion time (without skin)
Turkey - 2 to 2 1/4 hours digestion time (without skin)
Beef, lamb - 3 to 4 hours digestion time
Pork - 41/2 to 5 hours digestion time

This might be why eggs are regarded as a 'free food' on some plans and also explains why some plans tell you not to mix different types of protein in one meal.

I eat about three eggs a day - how about you?

Hi Robert - glad to see this thread as I've just popped into this section - I was going to ask about eggs!

I had read somewhere in some online low-carb site that eggs are nearly 100% assimilated by the body - with no waste. Do you know anything about that?

So eggs, if digested in 30 min or so - are like fruit, and I'm wondering if it might be a strategy to eat a few eggs half an hour before a carb meal to get the benefits of fullness from the protein ... I have a carb lunch tomorrow, maybe I'll try it and eat a few eggs before.

Also I wonder if eggs are so easily digested when combined with carbs - say, eggs and toast? What do you think?

I've heard in some food combining lit. that yogurt is very easily digestible and so a free food for combining - ie., can go with fruits, meat or grains... could eggs be similar?
