Habit: Daily meditation
Restarts: 1

Day 10: 12 minutes
Observation: Achieving a quiet mind when in the midst of actively learning something is (for me) quite a feat. When my brain has problems to chew on, that's pretty much all it wants to do.

I missed posting yesterday, being out and about, or dead to the world recovering from Too Many People and Too Much Noise at Grandma's marathon.

But: Friday, day 11 of analyzing hunger VS appetite:

No snacking. Early dinner after driving four hours with no opportunity to snack made it easy peasy.

Day 3 of planks: 45 seconds. Second time, WHEE!

Saturday: day 12.

No snacks, but did have a cheeseburger at lunchtime, after a very early breakfast. Not sure how to count it, because the goal was to avoid eating if NOT truly hungry, and I was.

Day 4 of planks.

LONG day, and only managed 30/rest/15.

My 90 day "no snacking between meals" habit I'm developing.

Day 5: complete
Restarts: 2

I have a habit of looking into the refrigerator whenever I go by it. Gee whiz! You'd think I already know what's in there. Opening the fridge door could be a gateway to snacking I'll see if I can catch myself next time and observe my mind state, I'll probably make a quick excuse to myself like, "just checking to see if the light needs replacing yet." - I'm good at fooling myself

This reminds me of an interview I once heard with the author Richard Russo (Empire Falls and other novels) talking about the act of writing and how difficult it is. He apparently worked at home and told the interviewer he'd find himself struggling with a passage and absentmindedly get up, walk to the refrigerator, and open it "as if the answers were in the refrigerator".

Way to go, thud, with resisting the snacking.

Yesterday Day 12 analyzing hunger VS appetite

Day 5 Planks.

No snacks, but bought a bottle of Arnold Palmer at a rest stop that was advertised as "zero sugar". It was not. AFTER drinking all but what Husband drank, I looked closer at the label, which said "1/3 the sugar." My guess is that whoever filled the vending machine didn't look, either; the two labels were nearly identical.

But I had 26 grams of carbs from that. Dang it. I don't know whether or not to consider it a fail, and to start over. Truly. Because it was neither hunger nor appetite, nor did I choose to ingest the carbs. I was careless.

Will think on it.

Planks: a new high, 50 seconds. WOOT.

Habit: Daily meditation
Restarts: 1

Day 11: 5 minutes
Both my body and brain were restless last night, and I really didn't want to meditate at all. Eventually, I did it, but I had trouble staying in it for long.
