Default I'm Back - Need Help

I am "Crazy Mimi" AKA Cindy from Texas.

I have gotten lost and allowed too many carbs back into my meals. I am hoping to find others here who have been there done that or are currently where I am to encourage and find my way OUT of this pattern.

I know that I can't do this without something that holds me accountable. Anyone have any suggestions - tips - insight into how to get moving in the right direction?

Hi Cindy,
I was where you are now and the only way I knew to make this work for me was to promise myself that I'd come here daily and enter all my food from the prior day into my journal here for all to see. That helped me stay accountable and follow my plan.

You have to do this for yourself and making a commitment to yourself will help you stick with it, no matter what.
You can do this!

Hi Cindy. I've been where you are - carb creep. It's not fun when you realize it and dealing with the aftereffects of it. I got back on track by, as Judy said, coming to this site daily and logging what I ate. Even if I wasn't logging, coming to this site and reading other LCers encouraging posts helps me decide to stay on track. Also realizing that it is, in fact, my decision whether I stay the course or eat stuff that harms me. It's a lot about realizing that I'm that important.

I was talking with a friend this afternoon and reminded him that he has to put himself first - because he's worth it. That same thought applies to me. And YOU.

Make up your mind to let nothing stop you and it is very important to come to this forum and read stories and suggestions from all these great people who have all been there and done that....

Welcome on board

To me what keeps me on track when I'm craving carbs badly is - remembering the feeling I get after a carb binge:

Powerless, self loathing, disgusted, to the point of crying. Then quickly comparing the two feelings: the carb crave, and the carb guilt, knowing that with the first I'll have a slim slender figure, and with the second I'll have even more fat to lose.

It's literally a moment of mind over matter.

My even more important advice, is keep busy.
You forget to eat entire meals when busy, let alone a small cookie

And of course, journaling and checking up here daily..

Good luck!

Hi Cindy,
I was where you are now. It took deciding to take one day at a time and choosing every day to stay on plan. Today is day 401. Plus I post in the daily weight thread, in my journal and in the first of the month challenge. All three help keep me focused and to keep things in perspective.

I'm far behind Christina in both weight loss and time, but I'm doing pretty much the same thing.

I started in September last year, focused on getting through 44 consecutive days. Then did another 44 days, then it was 100 days, and am working on my fifth 44 days and am getting close to 200 days (currently at 189!). My bigger picture goal is to be engaged in actively managing my weight for 44 months - but that's too long to contemplate, so I broke it into 44 days, although the 44 weeks is feeling like it will be achievable now! I don't have weight goals that I tie to time, by the way - the weight comes off as it's willing to come off, but I know I need to manage my weight long long term this time. I don't want to have to do this again.

I too post my weight daily on the Daily Weigher thread (I think it's really helpful to do this if you weigh every day, because it helps to see the weight variations of everyone - almost nobody has a straight-line drop).

And I use my journal a little bit too.
