Default 102 LBS to Go - My Intro to TDC

Hi, I'm here because I'm determined to lose my excess weight. I signed up for the forums in the middle of July. When I started the atkins program on July 21st, I had 115 pounds to lose to reach my goal. Two weeks later I was down to 102 pounds to lose.

I'm planning on weighing in once a week. I was weighing myself daily, but I think weekly is better for me.

I'm married and we have 2 teenage boys living at home. We live in Washington, north east of Seattle. DH (dear hubby) and I have married children and four grandbabies.

With a family to cook for, I think dinner is one of my biggest challenges. The rest of the day, our meals are okay, since the guys aren't home for lunch and they are on their own for breakfast. I'm learning to find the happy medium for our dinner meals.

I'm motivated to lose this weight! I want to live a a healthy, active life. I want to actually play with my grandbabies and not be wiped out after 15 minutes. Spring of 2007 I watched my entire family play baseball. I could bat the ball... but run to first base? I don't think so. Well! I wanted to run to all the way to third base! Homeplate would be even better but you know what I mean...

I have been exercising quite a bit this past year. I don't consider myself a couch potato anymore. Obviously it takes more than exercise for me to lose weight.

I've been working on losing weight and exercising for almost one year... August 9, 2007, and I thought I was motivated enough to do it. I started out at 268 nearly one year ago. I didn't get very far did I?

I'm excited to have started the atkins program! I'm really excited to be here with others who know my struggles!

You have to be mentally ready in order to get through the first month or so. After that, weight loss and improvements in energy / appearance is motivating. You will get in a groove and this will become effortless.

welcome mizzbutler!

just remember though that by weighing once weekly, you might find the scale one week is up because of things like water retentions o you might find that weighing daily/every few days etc is best so you know for yourself that your losing.

Thanks for the tip.

I haven't been able to wait all week anyway. I had to step on the scale to see how I was doing. I can tell ya, seeing the scale go down is exciting!
