Default 'Ringtone' tests hearing

I have a condition called 'glue ear' in my left ear and can hear this tone only in my right ear. The dogs can hear it though. It can detect high frequency hearing loss in the ear. I was in an an artillery unit many years ago.

I heard it fine, but afterwards I wasn't sure I was not still hearing it, lol... It made my ears ring!

Add: Weird feeling though, it felt like I was hearing it with the back of my neck somehow.

But I'm not sure my PC will let that play--there were a lot of pop-up windows going on, and I'm not in the mood to upgrade right now.

Right click on the link and select save target or link as ...

It should play in media player or Winamp, often RM "Real Player" will cause computer problems if you have it installed.

My kids heard it just fine. I couldn't hear it, but I didn't expect to be able to as I've had tinnitus for years and I know that it affects my hearing in the upper ranges of sound. My DH also couldn't hear it but that's fairly normal. Nearly all the adults that they played this for could not hear it and nearly all the kids could. As we get older, we tend to lose hearing ability but it's so gradual that most don't notice and a standard hearing test doesn't test for sounds that high in the range.

I have tinnitus and have a hard time understanding women on the TV or if they rapidspeak in person

Frequency, its probably 10% or so below the max Hz for a human-- like I said the dogs can hear my ultrasonic wand at 20KHz so I would guess about 10,000 or so. Anyone tried it on their cats?

There are some hearing tests available for download on the internet, not sure of the range though.
