Question Soda?

In my book it recommends caffeine free soda, but should I get diet too? I don't drink a lot of soda, but I want to make the best choice.

your best choice is probably Diet Caffeine Free Coke. The Somer's plan is all about NO SUGAR! so, soda has got to be diet

Yes, you'll need to get a diet pop, as regular pop is sweetened with sugar. Caffeine-free Diet Coke is okay, or Diet 7-up, Diet Sprite, etc. and Diet Mountain Dew. If you can get Diet RC (I've found it in WA), it is sweetened with Splenda rather than aspartame and comes in cola, white grape and a couple of other flavours I can't remember. I've heard of Diet Hansen's as well and Diet Crush (sorry can't remember which flavours) is also Splenda-sweetened.

Default diet rite

diet rite is a good choice because its caffeine free and surgar free
and it comes in a couple diffrent flavore rassberry, cola, tangerine and white grape and is sweetend with splenda making it taste great for diet and caffeine

what ever your choice is make sure it doesnt contain sugar so it would have to be a diet drink

there is about 39 grams of sugar to 1 can of pop of regular pop and caffeine free is the same just with no caffeine

hope you enjoy

Default Kroger

Kroger's Grocery Store sells their own brand of flavored water. It is carbonated similair to Clearly Canadian. It is sweetened with splenda (Sucralose) and is devine. No calories, no caffiene, no dyes. It is soooo good. It is carbonated too so it is like drinking A soda, but better for you. I encourage everyone to try it.

I tried several diet sodas when i first started low carbing, I ended up with diet coke. It was a hard adjustment for me because i had always drank regular soda, but i have really grown to like diet soda. (as far as the cafiene thing goes, i think you could drink cafeene free diet coke, or just make sure you drink a bit more water)

Default Hansen's are my favorites

There are 5 flavors of Diet Hansen's and they use Splenda instead of Aspartame. Flavors are: Black Cherry, Kiwi/Strawberry, Peach, Ginger Ale, Tangerine/Lime. I am also a sucker for diet rootbeer (gotta have it with my LC pizza!) and Creme soda, though all the brands I have found are sweetened with Aspartame. Some Rootbeers have caffeine and some don't, you have to look carefully. Actually you have to look carefully on all labels for caffeine because it is added for flavor to many drinks that are not of the cola variety.

You can also get SF syrups and add them to carbonated water to make your own drinks. DaVinci's has over 40 flavors to choose from!

I love to make herbal teas and chill them for iced tea during the day. And I use orange juice as a snack sometimes just because I love it and I know it's good for me!

When I first started this WOE I thought drinks were the hardest part. It took me awhile to sort that out to my satisfaction.

Luck!

Clarification on Mountain Dew: in Canada, Mountain Dew does not have caffeine; in the U.S., Mountain Dew has 55 g of caffeine per can.
