Cholesterol Issue
Hello everyone, I have been Atkinsing for a year now. I have lost 20 pounds with 10-15 to go, but have been on "temporary maintenance" for about 6 months with a plan to lose more in 2017. Before I started this great way of life my doctor put me on 10mg of Lipitor for a Cholesterol level slightly above 200. Six months later, my level was 167, then I began Atkins. Six months later my level was 166, then cut the dosage in half to 5 mg. Six months later, December 2016, my reading was 160. Around this time I cut out caffeine completely (coffee and diet pepsi), but started decaff coffee in the mornings. Around this time I started donating blood/platelets, so my blood was being tested more often. A week after my December bloodtest for the doctor, my donation test showed a reading of 171. A week later, it showed 183. Three weeks later, 2 days ago, it showed 191. I googled decaff coffee and read articles that it can raise bad cholesterol between 10 and 15 %. Any thoughts or comments? I will be discussing with my doctor but wanted to run it by you folks also, thanks.
