Default Do you misss eating all the time?

The one thing I really love about LC is that I am not hungry. I mean I really have to remind myself to eat sometimes. With a low fat diet I was always starving and always eating.
Sometimes now I miss snacking during the day, not because I'm hungry but out of boredom I think. Today was quiet at work and I found myself in the kitchen several times just staring into the fridge for anything.
I settled for a Chai tea with Splenda and some Cream.
Old habits are hard to break!
Tomorrow I plan on stocking that fridge with some celery sticks, peppers, and cheese cubes to snack on!

I don't miss eating so much but sometimes I get a craving for something like mashed potatoes or other high carb thing.

I tried mock mashed potatoes but they just aren't the same.

I am never hungry enough to actually give in to carbs anymore but I do still get a taste for some carby thing every so often.

I eat better now than I ever did before but do occasionally miss the mouth feel of real bread. Adding Intermittent Fasting to the low carb routine has given me an even greater appreciation for my meals and searching for great flavor in whole foods.

ShesGG,
If making a stew or stir fry that needs a potato like texture I use water chestnuts. It comes out pretty close in texture and you save almost half the carbs.

Default Confessions from British Columbia

Hi there:

I do not feel hungry at all anymore, and also have to remind myself to eat .... snacking helps for sure.

I did however blow it last night .... but I was not hungry at all, just stressed. Have not stress eaten for quite a long time now, but this week was horrific ... all kinds of problems, wont bore you with them ... but unfortunately I let my guard down and ate four oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that I found left over in the freezer (at least I took the time to thaw them first ), and two glasses of organic apple juice!!! Oh boy .... but thats ok, because this morning I got up and had my steel cut oats with coconut oil and walnuts ... and feel great knowing that I got right back onto plan and did not feel sorry for myself and acknowledged why I had done it, and moved on!

Cheers everyone - and thanks for listening

Paula

I love steel cut oats. I put them is the slow cooker overnight so that they are ready in the morning. No better breakfast than that. I will not give them up ever. With cream, chopped nuts and Slenda Brown Sugar substitute.

Mmmmmm, sounds good!

I actually found an organic steel cut oats at my local health food store and they cook in 20 - 30 mins. I keep a big batch of them in the fridge and just scoop some out each morning and heat in the microwave, then add the coconut oil - it melts in the heat - and some Walnuts.

I have been reading about Walnuts and how amazing they are for cardiovascular health, so I alternate them with almonds now.

I don't miss eating all the time. In fact I feel more of a freedom from wanting to eat all the time. Since I can go for 6 hrs without feeling hungry, I can accomplish a lot every day without being distracted by a growling stomach or food obsessions.
