Default Got a new scale...

And I'm even heavier than I thought. My old scale was 10 pounds off. What a slap to the face lol. I'll be 2 weeks in this coming Monday and I haven't broken plan so I'm gonna count this Monday coming as my new start weight and go from there...

Have a good low carb day!

Well...strictly speaking, with only two data points you really don't know that.

The truth could be:

New Scale

Old Scale

Somewhere in between.

Only the general direction really matters. And that's over time...a long time...a lifetime even! So don't worry. Just establish a schedule of weighing, if that's what you want to do, and track the trend. Be patient.

Best wishes.

Thanks!! I don't rely a whole lot on the scale...except to see it go down. Going back up was not fun!

I agree! It is not so much the number but the direction that matters most. And of course how you feel, and look, and fit into your clothes.

Consider going to your doctor's office and ask if you can just step on their scale to test yours. You might even adjust the new one to match the office one, because in the end, that is the only BMI number that counts.

Which one is closest to your doctor's scale?

I have had the same scale for 11 years and it is always with 3 pounds of the doctors scale. I have to see the doctor for bloodwork every 3 months and he always wants a weight

Maybe the old scale was the correct weight

I was advised that the best way to test new scales at home is to take a pre-determined weight that you know to be accurate (2 litres of water weigh 2kg) and put 5kg or 10lbs on the scales and check what they read.....

We did this with my mum's scales and had to re-calibrate them by switching them off, removing the battery, re-inserting it and switching it on again.
Then, it became accurate, to within 4oz.

Great minds think alike.

On the recalibrating Tara mentioned. My scale has to be re-set everytime you move it. Try to leave it in one place, but if you knock it by accident or pick it up to clean floor, you have to quick step on it and let the scale re-set.

Electronic scales are fussy...be sure to follow the set up and calibration directions.

It is a digital. So maybe we do need to recalibrate it. Or maybe I'll stick with my old one...it said I lost 8 pounds...😊
