Little figures under the "Registered Member" name

There are some little figures under the names of registered members. They don't seem to be avatars. And there are different numbers of them under a member's name. Is there any significance to the number of figures or the figures themselves? Just curious.

Yes, there is significance. The figures are based on the amount of posts a person has on this forum.
